Outlining his priorities for the next term, Muhwezi highlighted education, agricultural development, youth empowerment, and responsive leadership as key pillars of his agenda.

“I envision a Rujumbura where our children study in well-equipped schools, where farmers have access to better markets and modern technologies, where our youth become job creators rather than job seekers, and where every citizen feels the impact of visionary leadership,” he said.

Muhwezi also reaffirmed his commitment to aligning local development initiatives with Uganda’s national goals, pledging to contribute to the country’s journey toward middle-income status.

“Nationally, I hope to serve as part of the generation of leaders that moves Uganda from a developing country to a modern economy, firmly rooted in the values of patriotism, hard work, and unity,” he said.

A seasoned public servant, Muhwezi has held several high-level government positions over the years.

He was appointed Minister for National Security in June 2021 and reclaimed his Rujumbura parliamentary seat the same year, after losing it in 2016.
